you've built.

KnoSky turns any repo or folder of docs into a living, explorable city — and grounds your AI assistant in your own source, with citations. Point it at a folder, get a skyline in under a minute.

What it is

A map of your work — not another file tree.

A file tree tells you what files exist. It doesn't tell you what you've actually built. KnoSky reads your repo or docs folder and renders the shape of it: folders become districts, files become buildings, every building links to the real, live file.

See it at a glance

Which areas are big, how they connect, where the gaps are — the whole project on one screen. New collaborators orient in minutes, not weeks.

Find anything in seconds

Search the city — or ask your AI “where does auth live / what did we decide about billing” — and jump straight to the live source.

Ground your AI

A local connector (MCP) lets Claude, Cursor, VS Code or Gemini answer from your source, with citations — instead of confidently making things up.

Why it's worth your minute

Comprehension, recall, and a grounded AI — at zero cost.

It's an index, not a copy. It runs entirely on your machine, stores pointers — never your file contents — and links back to the live source. Always fresh, $0 tokens to keep current, nothing uploaded.

Minutesto onboard onto a sprawling repo, instead of weeks of spelunking.
$0to build and keep your city fresh — deterministic, no API keys, no tokens.
0 bytesleave your machine. Your source stays yours; only pointers are indexed.
Not a code-RAG engine. It's a map + router — it tells you where things are and hands the source to you or your AI. (Cursor/Glean still own deep code Q&A.)
Not a cloud service. No account, no upload, nothing leaves your laptop.
Not a copy of your data. A navigable index of pointers — titles, headings, short excerpts that link to the live file.
Just the map — and a grounded AI. For comprehension, recall, and citations over your own knowledge.
Where it came from

Born from building Sathia.

A few weeks into building Sathia — an AI orchestration platform built on a simple idea, just say it, and intent becomes action — I realized I'd lost the map of my own project. Hundreds of decisions, specs, and architecture notes across a sprawling repo, and no way to see how it fit together.

So I built the thing I needed: point it at the repo, and the whole system becomes a city I can walk. KnoSky is that piece, pulled out and given away free.

If you're a builder buried in your own repo, it's yours. See what Sathia is →

Three steps, one minute

Node 18+, then:

node core/fs-indexer.mjs --root . --out city.json
node renderer/build-rich.mjs city.json city.html
# open city.html · add the MCP to your AI

Everything runs locally — your code never leaves the machine.
